The Tarot Studio

Tarot cards are designed with symbols as a language meant to represent stages of and influences on our lives. We know the tarot in present times to be an incredibly meaningful and powerful tool alongside our personal journeys. This tarot studio uses your card insights a little differently.
The Tarot Studio
The mind recognizes patterns.
Sometimes we don’t need another opinion. We need a better map.
When you’re living through something difficult, the hardest part often isn’t knowing how you feel. It’s recognizing the larger pattern you’re standing inside.
Tarot has been one of humanity’s oldest symbolic languages for recognizing patterns that are often difficult to see while we’re living inside them. Rather than predicting your future, The Tui Tarot was created to help you recognize your present with greater clarity.
Whether you’re moving through family conflict, grief, truth exposure, a major life transition, uncertainty, or simply feel stuck, each roadmap was created to help you better understand where you are, what you’re carrying, and what your next step might be.
The Tui Tarot Studio exists to help you recognize the patterns already unfolding—because once we can see them clearly, we can begin responding to them differently.

The Tui Tarot
When words aren’t enough, symbols remain. Long before I could explain many of my experiences plainly, I found myself understanding them through symbols.
Paintings. Films. Music. Dreams. Nature. Stories. And of course, Tarot.
These were the places where meaning could exist before language caught up and The Tui Tarot grew from that experience.
It is now an original 78-card deck created as a symbolic language for pattern recognition, reflection, and meaning-making. Rather than predicting the future, it invites us to notice the patterns, relationships, and archetypes already shaping our lives.
Named after New Zealand’s native Tui bird, the deck honors the place where I first learned to trust my own inner compass and where I met my husband, a true Kiwi native. It became a reminder that sometimes our lives change before we understand why.
Why Tarot?
We often think in stories long before we think in facts.
We dream in symbols. We remember places through scent. We associate songs with seasons of our lives. We recognize ourselves in paintings, films, poems, and literature.
Tarot belongs to that same symbolic tradition.
Whether or not you believe the cards possess any spiritual significance, symbols have always been one of humanity’s oldest ways of organizing experience, exploring questions, and creating meaning.
Tarot doesn’t replace your intuition, but it does help to create space to listen to it more clearly.
Why Symbolism Matters Here
The entire Bunny Bunny Foundation and SO LA Safe Space were built on the belief that healing rarely happens through one language alone.
Sometimes science helps us to understand. Sometimes a memoir helps us feel seen. Sometimes scent reaches memories words cannot. Sometimes a crystal becomes a grounding object.
And sometimes, a single image says what an entire conversation cannot.
The Tarot Studio is one room within the larger ecosystem of other studio pages where every card connects with the broader world you’ve already entered here, alongside Tiny Heart Pieces, Field Notes From the Clouds, Brain Health, the Candle Studio, the Crystals studio, and the many other symbolic languages that work together to help us better understand and witness ourselves.
Science explains, story witnesses, scent remembers, the hands hold and ground, and the mind recognizes patterns. Together, they become different languages for finding our way back to ourselves and tarot serves as one more symbolic language within that ecosystem, weaving together art, neuroscience, literature, memoir, sensory experience, and reflection into one evolving map of becoming.
The Traditional Tarot 101
They have a trendy and fun reputation these days, but the practice of tarot and its' symbolic language is not new. Tarot has been around for centuries and some researchers have detected symbols and themes that can be traced back as far as ancient Egypt. Most historical data traces the tarot back to the early fifteenth century in Italy, where known as a card game called the tarocchi, which was popular with the nobility.
Around 300 years later, tarot grew to be known in France and then England as less of a game and more of a magical and spiritual practice for its' offerings in aiding our life path with clarity. By the nineteenth century, we began to use tarot for seeking knowledge about the future and expanding our understanding of the past and present circumstances in our lives.
Today, we know the basic format as it was created in the nineteenth century: a 78-card deck divided into two groups: 22 Major Arcana cards, denoting important life events and shifts, and 56 Minor Arcana cards, reflecting day-to-day events. The Minor Arcana cards are sorted into suits just like a deck of playing cards containing four suits with an ace, cards two through ten, and royal face cards.
Each card has two sides to represent the duality of all our experiences and what we can learn from them. All of our lives are rich with both wonderful and challenging times, the cards are here to help us see and understand the lessons in these experiences so we can move forward.
Our tarot deck is not your traditional deck, however. Uniquely, the entire deck was designed from scratch and in great symbolic detail with a present day interpretation of all 78 cards.
The Tui Tarot deck wasn’t born because I became fascinated with tarot history. It was born because symbolism became a language my nervous system could still speak when ordinary language wasn’t enough.
And while many people and readers approach tarot in different ways, The Tui Tarot is rooted in symbolic interpretation rather than prediction. It is used here to help illuminate patterns, encourage reflection, and support thoughtful decision-making through one of humanity’s oldest visual languages.
A Different Kind of Read
I don’t believe tarot should replace your judgment or tell you who you are. I do believe it can become a meaningful companion for curiosity, reflection, and self-understanding.
Sometimes the greatest gift a card offers isn’t an answer. It’s an honest reflection providing you a more authentic path forward.
