SO LA Safe Space

The Beginnings of the Bunny Bunny Foundation as a Belonging and Better Brain Health Ecosystem

SO LA began as an advocate site to share resources and raise awareness in the aftermath of developmental trauma and including sexual abuse. Its' beginnings were made up of sharing to heal through paintings, thought pieces and highlighting resources, relevant books, documentaries, television series and film.

At the forefront of it all was a passion for rewriting suffering as an acceptable experience to have. It shouldn't have to be with shame that we acknowledge this. While each journey is unique, not one includes the ability to get through developmental trauma unscathed.

SO LA grew into building a plan to launch product lines that promote self acceptance through sensory experience. Their original aim was to support mental wellness and vulnerability as strength. Honoring what it means to be in our bodies and the challenges that can come with that, I decided the products would recognize this courage in identifying a 7 senses journey.

The first product ever imagined was created to coincide with our sense of smell in the launch of a tarot-inspired crystal candle line that centers charitable giving.

Each candle tumbler would present a card in its' label and a relevant cause for which a donation is made in each purchase, with the intention of contributing to the many mental health, medical aid, and global initiative foundations that support shared vision and mission for all of our brain health and betterment.

I set out to highlight that the tarot, signs and symbols, while not taught such in a syllabus, are all around us every day with the hope of helping our broader communities find trust, peace and hope in the messages and wisdom carried within. I ended with a brain health business as an all encompassing trauma foundation for belonging called The Bunny Bunny Foundation, the umbrella where SO LA Safe Space was able to evolve into:

The Burrow: the community gathering place exploring the larger ecosystem of support and belonging that sits alongside

The Candle Bunny: the sensory experience product lines, and

Tiny Heart Pieces: the origin story connecting it all.
