The Movement Studio

The Movement Studio

The body learns, releases and integrates through movement.

Movement has been one of the most consistent languages of my life.

For sixteen years, The Bar Method has been a place where I experienced my body changing through repetition, sensation, alignment, endurance, and the unmistakable shake that arrives when muscles are working at their edge. The benefits of barre class showed me something physically that I did not yet understand the words for or science behind: the body isn’t passive. It responds, adapts and reorganizes. It can meet intensity, stay present, and come out different on the other side moving emotions we may not even know we’ve been holding onto inside.

I first came to The Bar Method as a student in 2010. Three years later, I started training and then became an instructor. I taught across Los Angeles, New Jersey, Brooklyn, New York City, San Francisco, through Zoom during the pandemic, and eventually returned to my home studio in West Hollywood, the place where my healing journey all began. Through every chapter, movement remained a steady companion for somatic release and feeling safe in my body.

The movement studio exists because somatic healing is something the body can practice right away, and may be already without necessarily naming it yet.

The Bar Method

The Bar Method is a low-impact, highly precise barre workout built through strength training, isometric work, alignment, stretching, and repetition. In class, small movements become powerful because they ask the body to stay engaged, focused, and present.

For me, the method is so much more than exercise. It is a family, a community, a place where sensation, discipline, music, and friendship showed me how much the body can move, process, strengthen, and release through practice. I highlight this practice on our blog here.

Private Strength Coaching

Movement also continues through private strength coaching with my favorite guy! Zac Harrison Jones is a kiwi native, professional rugby player and strength and conditioning coach with a background in sport and exercise science, applied science, elite rugby performance, return-to-play programming, speed and agility, prehab, rehab, and individualized training.

Zac’s work is grounded in performance, safety, proper technique, and helping people train in ways that match their goals, bodies, and real lives. Through his background in professional rugby and high-performance strength and conditioning, he brings a practical, educated, deeply athletic lens to private coaching.

What This Studio Offers

The Movement Studio brings together group fitness, barre, strength training, private coaching, and movement education as another doorway in our ecosystem.

This is the place for people who understand through the body. Not through explanation first, but through movement, repetition, sensation and discovering what benefits and changes take place in our emotional worlds when the physical body gets to participate.
